  2. What kinds of handsets will work on 4G LTE?
    • All the LTE-enabled handsets that support FDD-LTE Band 3 specification are compatible with 4G LTE.
  3. What is the advantage for Mobicom’s handsets on 4G LTE as an authorized distributor?
    MobiCom is the only authorized Apple iPhone provider in Mongolia, and its network is the only Apple-certified 4G network in Mongolia.   5. How can I tell whether I am connected to MobiCom’s 4G LTE?
    When the connection is successfully established, you will see a writing 4G or LTE at the left top corner of your phone screen.
  1. Are you expanding the 4G LTE network coverage in 2016? When is 4G LTE coming to the rural areas?
    We have expanded the 4G LTE coverage to most of Ulaanbaatar and Erdenet cities as of Q3 2016. We will be expanding the coverage further in 2017.
  1. Can I use 4G LTE data service when travelling abroad?
    Currently, the 4G LTE data service is not applicable to the International Roaming Service.
  1. I see the 3G logo on my phone in an area with 4G LTE coverage. Why?
    You are probably experiencing the either of the following issues:
  • Your SIM card is not 4G LTE-ready
  • Your phone is not 4G LTE compatible
  • You haven’t enabled the 4G LTE connection in your settings
  • Your phone’s operating system hasn’t been upgraded to the latest version to support 4G LTE
  1. When making outgoing calls, the LTE sign changes to 2G or E. Why?
    4G LTE is currently available only for data transfers and call an SMS services use 2G and 3G networks.
  1. If I cancel the 4G LTE data service, will my data package remain the same?
    Cancelling your 4G LTE data service will not have any impact on the data package you purchased or your phone bill.
  1. If my current SIM card doesn’t support 4G LTE, will you replace it free of charge?
    MobiCom will not replace your current SIM card free of charge and will follow the main terms on SIM card replacement.
  1. If I switch from 4G LTE to 3G without ending a current session, will my data be calculated at Pay-As-You-Go rates?
    Regardless of which network you are using, your data usage will continue normally. Only the speed of your data transfer will be different. As 4G LTE offers an ultra high-speed connection, you may experience a high data usage. Therefore, we recommend a data package so that you can keep track of your data usage.
  1. Will other networks like 2G and 3G work normally in areas with 4G LTE coverage?
    In areas with 4G LTE coverage, 2G and 3G networks will not be affected.
  1. Will my phone automatically switch to 4G LTE in areas with LTE coverage?
    If you meet all the requirements to use the 4G LTE data service and your phone is set on an automatic mode, your phone will switch 4G LTE like it does to 2G and 3G.
  1. How many devices can I connect to the 4G LTE-compatible dongle device through Wi-Fi?
    As many as you wish. Please note that the more devices you connect to the Wi-Fi device, the more the speed will be reduced.
  1. What is the average speed of LTE network?
    Theoretical LTE maximum speed on given frequency spectrum is 75Mbps and practically it will be up to 10 times faster that 3G speed.
  1. Will the price of LTE Pay-as-you-go service be the same as current 2G&3G?
    Same pricing will be applied.
  1. Can data package activated customers use it for all of LTE, 3G, 2G networks?
    Yes. Current pricing policy and terms will be applied for all cases
  1. Is there any 4.5G or not?
    There is no 4.5G.
  2. Which LTE mode is introduced in Mongolia?
    Currently FDD LTE mode is introduced.
